I was reading through a few older threads on tumbling labradorite. I have a vibratory tumbler and some shaped pieces of stone. I saw a lot of replies that were saying don't tumble labradorite, but I wondered if anyone had any luck with final smoothing and polishing in a vibratory tumbler? Would save me a ton of time if there is a knack to it people could share.
Anyone know?
Wanted to add, I had taken the pieces to a 600 diamond polish already.

it can be easily done with excellent results in Vibe. You must slow down the vibe with thickening agents (eg sugar), and /or run it slower so no banging occurs. 50% media. Dry polish technique, or you will have less than acceptable results. Trick is the opposite of hard stones, meaning the longer in each stage, THE WORSE it gets.... so move it on sap! good luck.

Definitely dry polish. If you use 1000 grit, it should be for no longer than 24 hours. I have some pictures of my tumble I need to post.. I did not use dry polish and was slightly disappointed, but I got quite a few good pieces out of the batch.

ok, thanks! When I do it, I will show some pics of what I ended up with. It will probably be a few weeks, because I don't have many of the labradorites ready yet.
