I think that is a very impressive piece. Great color combinations and design. The silver work is perfect on that one and really adds to my urge to try it. Thanks for posting their work. Did you mention RTH to them so maybe they can join and share more?

Drummond Island Rocks. He doesn't do the internet except for news, I send her links to this forum all the time, we have a running conversation about rocks as well as other shared interests. She seems to have no interest in forums, too busy! I sent her the link to this conversation however. She is taking lapidary classes and they both recently took their first class in silver working. This is one of the results. I can't wait to see what else they make!

Looks like they are from Michigan. Do you know where they took the silversmith class? Chuck

Drummond Island Rocks Chuck, they live near Albuquerque NM, and take silver smithing classes there. There is a Michigan Silver Smith guild which gives silver working lessons and seminars. I have a link to the stuff they offer somewhere. I follow their page on facebook. I'll see if I can find that and post it here. There are a few places near Detroit which offer lessons, nothing near the mitt where I am, and it is too far for me to drive and too expensive for me to stay in a motel or something for the duration of classes or seminars offered... but you may be in location or financial circumstances which allow you to participate. I'll tag you when I find it and post here.

Thanks for that link If I ever get the chance I think I would try the William Holland Lapidary school in Georgia. I know some folks that have taken classes there and gave great reviews. All the class are week long but the school has on site lodging and camping is available too. www.lapidaryschool.org/

I have heard of Wm. Holland, of course, and heard good things, too. Here is a link to the place they are taking lessons from and loving it. abqsilverstoneacademy.com/about

The photos they show for beginners class #1 would not be anything I would like though. Class #2 is exactly what I am after. Chuck
