Took a picture of an Ibex last month, and would like to convert that into a lasting wearable memory of the trip. This is one of 4 possible surfaces to work on. Still unclear about what I want on the other faces. Currently, I'm thinking of Edelweis on the other large surface (Back of this face) and possibly an owl in a cavity to the left (side) of this. Have yet to decide an eventual design for this bird. But stage one is done.

Love your idea for carving the Ibex and flower to remember your family's travels in your home land, kk.

I am pretty sure you will figure it out. The start looks good. Jim

In the meantime basically finished the Labradorite Bird. Will leave the bottom front for the time being as is, as I do not yet know how I would like to have it set (eventually). A cab (carving preform) to booth to get back into mood of cutting. Thanks for looking, Kurt

Very cool work on that labradorite Kurt! I was wondering how you were going to work with the flash. Hey! There's tiny fried eggs inside of that little cab!! Mmmm...breakfast agate! ~Roland

Mmmm...breakfast agate! ~Roland Thank you for rescuing the post from the abyss. Not many people here these days into carving. Dont know yet what to do with the Polka Dot. But its irregular shape guarantees that something needs to be carved. But first, need to finish my Ibex and edelweis. Then again, might start on a new angel. Saw a design by a Taiwanese artist recently and would like to base it on.

I love the bird! Anything with wings is awesome in labradorite.
