Super, one-day show! Take a drive on this early fall day and visit Two Harbors on the north shore of Lake Superior.

Agate City put on a small but super show. It was a big weekend with events in the Twin Ports. On my way up Highway 61 to Two Harbors, MN from Superior, WI I stopped and watched a bit of an in-line marathon. This group of elite racers sent by very fast and near silent. The show was at Agate City. There were a few demonstrations: flint knapping by Jim Cordes. And extracting Thompsonite from the host basalt. Bob's son-in-law was there with a fine selection of stromatolites from the Iron Range. Rob Carlson brought a great selection of Upper Peninsula (Michigan) copper. And a stunning 3 lb. 11 ounce Lake Superior Agate. Rob sold me a 5 gallon bucket of slabs for a very reasonable price. (Pictures soon.) And I picked up a nice piece of Larvakite from a dealer to make 2 spheres. (again, pictures soon.) We had a beautiful day with the first whisps of cool, fall air to enjoy.
