A nice lady bought a cool Pacific Coast Picasso from me and wanted it wrapped. I did something with it that I haven't tried till now, but have wanted to. I finally ran out of LOS and got new. I got gel again. Since it was fresh, I decided to paint it on only where I wanted it... on some decorative coils. It looks really great in person! This particular material looks especially nice in shiny silver, so I didn't want to patina the whole thing, however, coils and such look so much nicer patinaed. ~~~~ Thanks for looking!

Looks great. And that stone has so much life to it.

I like it. Another trick for your huge bag of tricks. Thanks for passing on the instructions.

Thanks for passing on the instructions. chuck If you would like to try this, and I hope you do, then I should add that after I carefully applied the gel to the coils, I put the piece under a lamp for a few minutes. That really helped to develop the patina since I wasn't adding it to hot water.

yeah that gel is heat sensitive stuff. I have been putting my cup of water in the microwave for 30-40 seconds before mixing it up lately.

Towards the end of life on my last batch, I was using really hot tap for a soak, taking the piece out, microwaving and putting the piece back in! PITA.

You ran out of LOS, oh my, shocking...lol. seriously that is a beautiful wrap and a great idea for accenting it. The patina on the coils sure brings out the color in the cab without detracting from it or the wrap.
