Rolled 15 pounds of coral and pet wood in the rotary for 14 days for final coarse grind with SiC 80 and clay. Did about seven 80 grit runs for a week each before the 14 day run. Figured it is beat down the SiC 80 to less than 500 after 2 weeks. So into the vibe for the standard 3 days with AO 500 and 1.5 cups sugar. And, just started these NOT silicified fossilized oysters with a 1/3 dose of SiC 80 and clay in the rotary. They will have to be done in 220 as they are probably too soft to break down SiC 80. They will be run in the vibe using Jugglerguy's master corn husk dry formula, starting with AO 500 in the vibe. Will add some abalone shell with them as soon as Post Office delivers them. Fingers crossed. Having great luck coarse tumbling large delicate plates of botryoids with SiC 80 and thick clay slurry. Hardly any breakage.

About half way into AO 500 (36 hours) in the vibe and would say finish is right on course. Usually takes 3 days after being in 220 in the rotary. Running low on SiC 220 so I let the last SiC 80 run 14 days. Clay added from beginning of 14 days to make only a chocolate milk consistency. Ran the 14 day 80 slurry thru a sheet and could not find any black particles-close inspection. Pretty sure the 220 step will get skipped in the future. Appears the clay is scavenging every particle of grit. Results after 2.5 days in sugar and AO 500. Will 'clean' sugar off with Borax and AO 14,000 for 24 hours. PS. Ran vibe a while back in AO 500 with sugar in hot greenhouse for 5 days and never had to add water. Opened it up day 3 and day 5. No adjustments on slurry. Two step tumble:

Whole oyster only after a day in SiC 80. Soft material.

All is well Andrew. Finished a couple of batches w/help of vibe and finished a couple all the way with the rotary. Now vibe is backed up with several batches from rotaries. So it should be running full time for 10 days or so. It gobbles up the rotary output w/out effort. You know the game. Plus going to try some dry batches.
