I've never heard of cabbing pyrite. Should look cool. Have you done it before?
I tried to slab copper by hand on my trim saw once. The saw wouldn't cut it. It just sort of smeared. I think it was way too soft and malleable. Pyrite is considered a metal, right? Will a diamond blade cut it?

I received some pyrite from a buddy in Arizona,still need to break it down and get something done with it.... That is one nice cab....Thumbs up

Did you hound that? diamond will cut it, pyrite is really soft. here is a cabochon i made from a smaller stone. The reflection seems to indicate you need a haircut. Nice polish old man!

I bought that rock from a old a old rock hound. he said it came from AZ this could make 1 maybe 2 spheres.

Wow that cab looks cool! I'm playing with a slab of silver ore I'll bet I'd feel better screwing up a cab of pyrite compared to silver :-)

It in saw, cut about 8 slabs so far. looks like some will yield hood cabochons and some belt buckles. I post photos soon
