Hi guys, just wondering is anyone knew to a good guide book for the uk. I can get world books but would like one that tells you where you might find things, not just this is what it looks like and how it was formed. I could do with one that allows me to visit and area and have a rough idea what i might be lucky enough to find there. many thanks

www.agatesofscotland.co.uk/ Here is a good place to start to at least get general ideas of where certain stones are at. If you learn to read geology maps there you can get a good basis to go out on your own and see what you find. Look into the Ochil Volcanic Formation. A guide book is a lot easier but when you study the formations you get a glimpse of how certain guide books were even wrote.
