Awwww, she's a beauty! You're gonna have your hands full with that one, aussies are a bundle of energy! We had a found dog that (we guessed) was half aussie and half chow. Spunky lived until she was 17.
Watch those dewclaws on her hind legs. We had a dog born with them, our vet recommended we have them removed just to avoid any problems with them catching on things and getting ripped off down the road.

Nice dogs, hard headed,tough and territorial, some can't bark but sorta yodel. She can definitely bark. She noticed the 20" red pacu (the one in my icon photo) and she kept barking at him. She also has an interesting whimper that sounds kind of like a chipmunk. She is a little hard headed, but has been pretty good at obeying commands. |

She is only around 16.5 inches tall at the shoulder. |

How much does she weigh? Spunky was about that tall, and weighed 35 - 40 lbs. I think that's a perfect size!

What wonderful colors she has. Blue Heelers are wonderfully loyal in my experience, but I have only seen them raised from pups and not adopted. Keep an eye on yer around strangers. Some, but not all, are very protective of their master, and will take on any perceived threat. She looks like she is very alert and smart. Good luck with Jax, she is a lucky pup!

That's a fine looking pup. See them in the back of pickups around here all the time. I always speak to them, but don't reach in to pet them.
Never had one but several friends have, keep them busy and they can be great dogs.

Since they can reach 3 feet he will probably outlive me. |

I have actually been taking her around to my mom's house and various friends houses so she gets used to various people and realizes that wherever she goes she is coming home with me and not losing her home. My business partner's last dog was a rescue. When her dad passed away and they were packing boxes for the estate sale the dog got so upset thinking she was losing her home again that she started throwing up. I guess her family lost their home in a foreclosure and the dog remembered all the boxes being packed before she ended up in the shelter. Then when her mom passed and boxes were getting packed the dog got upset again. So I want Jax to know that we can go places but she is always coming back with me. So far she has been really good around all the people. Actually kind of skittish at first, but warms up to them quickly. Next is to try her with a neighbor's dog that Debra used to walk her dog with. |
