This summer, I picked up a bucket of pebbles from a Lake Superior beach to use as smalls in my tumblers. Don't worry, the bucket was well under 25 pounds. Today, while doing a tumbler clean out, I found an agate! Isn't it a beauty?

Are you sure that is under the 25 lbs limit? You know soon the government will be checking out rock forms. Pay a government worker 75 k a year to make $1000.00 in fines.

I can totally understand the excitement of finding an agate.
I have been actively rockhounding Illinois since 2002 and have collected a total of four.
Once posted here that I wished I lived in an agate rich state. Another member replied that he wished he lived in a fossil rich state. All perspective I suppose.

I'm with you, Ken. I live in a disillusioned rich part of the state. The agates are about 4.5 hours away, I'd gladly trade fossils for agates any day.

You have great circulation in your finger Rob.
I would suggest not going to Lake Falcon in S Texas. You may never return.

Actually, my circulation sucks. It runs in my family. I'm pretty sure I have Raynaud's disease. Sometimes the ends of some of my fingers turn completely white.

Had seen a photo of you barefoot skiing at what looked like 60 MPH. Specimen of perfect health. Read the symptoms, more common in cold climates/women/people under stress.

Oh, it's not a big deal at all. My hands and feet just get cold easy and sometimes fingers go white and numb. I've never been officially diagnosed. It's kind of like when you sleep on your arm and it goes dead. It's an interesting oddity.
