Those fruit trees make fine smoking wood. Is it poison or venom if it is administered like a suppository ? A common large spider in Florida with a giant web: If it is jammed in your ass and it poisons you. It is poison. Even if you were gay and it was injected there, it would still be a poison.

She prolly won't lay now, no tree to nest in or make her webs.

Good catch @shotgunner Scott. That is a large spider I see in Florida. It makes large webs too. I meant to post the (common name) black and yellow garden spider/banana spider-Argiope aurantia Giant webs and can wrap a cicada or 3 inch locust in seconds. Always has a stitch pattern in the middle of web for some reason, drawing it tight ? " The garden spider can oscillate her web vigorously while she remains firmly attached in the center.[7] This action might prevent predators like wasps and birds from drawing a good bead, and also to fully entangle an insect before it cuts itself loose. However, in a case observed in Georgia, Davis witnessed a Vespa crabro fly into the spider’s web and get tangled up. Upon looking closer it was found that V. crabro was actually cutting free prey that had been caught in the A. aurantia web. In this case, A. aurantia did not interfere or fight with the European Hornet probably because it dropped down and hid nearby.[8]" Look familiar mohs ? We used to put Lubbers in their webs: www.tampabay.com/features/homeandgarden/kill-kill-kill-the-eastern-lubber-grasshopper/1223224" Because, for the most part, they're right. The lubber's only natural predator is the loggerhead shrike, a cool little bird that decapitates them and then impales their carcasses on thorns or barbed-wire fences so the sun can bake out the toxins before mealtime." www.orlandosentinel.com/sfl-820grasshoppers-story.html

Well geez, I thought this thread was about cutting trees but it seems to have taken a turn...lol. I'm not a big fan of spiders but they can be useful. Scott, there are still a couple of trees in the yard, maybe she'll relocate. I didn't see her after she lowered herself down off the stump to the ground which was pretty cool to watch. I purposely waited to cut the rest down until after she left.

LOL James, those guys are idiots. I was waiting for the tranny to come flying out from under the car. Nice load of wood Jean, lots of campfires in there. I only got a little wood out of the fruit trees but brought it with me since Scott wasn't going to use it.

Good news, the spider survived my tree cutting. Shotgunner sent me a picture today and she is now hanging out on the house. Maybe she figured I would not cut down the house so it is safe there.

She has chosen to make her new web 6" off my kitchen window. She had a meal today and looks fatter than ever. Eggs coming soon. Thanks Diane, my dear, for posting image for me, time is a four letter word!!

rockpickerforever- Those old Sears saws are made for men 300 pounds and bigger. Got a ton of grunt and big chain. Neighbor has one for cutting fallen tree trunks. Saw dust to knees. Them are hosses.

Bow saws were outlawed. Benefit was that blade never got trapped in a pinch. Draw back was tip kick from hell. Many a man butchered by these bad boys. Perhaps voted most dangerous power tool. One grabbed my neighbors pants cuff and climbed him all the way to his scalp. 1200 stitches, 11 hours at doc.
