micellular asked about posting an older necklace she made that would fit the October challenge. That got me to thinking that maybe an inspiration thread would be nice. So, if you have something you have made in the past which fit the bill, then go ahead and post it here. Here's mine. The file folder is called "Jasper Autumn Red". Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the stone, but between the stone colors, the beads and copper, I think the piece is very Autumn.

Thanks Don! Those pieces are very much in the realm of Fall. Y'all need to check out that thread. There's some gorgeous work from inspiration through completion. I hope you don't mind. I'm posting one of the pics here as a teaser.

It's beginning to look a lot like fall on here ;-)

Fall evokes images of fallen leaves in me. I tried several times to imitate a leaf to varying degree of success. My first try years ago: Then last year I tried again with Dino bone, and while it looks like a leaf at hand, I simply cant get a picture that does the piece justice. The better one, while I'm still not very happy with it, is this Montana Thanks for looking, best regards, Kurt

Back when I still made jewelry (and had a lot more time), I made these two necklaces inspired by autumn leaves in places with actual seasons. The first one has tourmalines wire-wrapped on a commercial chain. The chain in the second necklace is made of Tunduru gems directly wirewrapped to each other, which is why it has a denser look. That second one took around 25 hours with several hundred individual wraps. Nowadays I guess people crochet or kumihimo the chains to save themselves several hours of work.

Wow! That's some nice work! kk The way you captured the fluidity of the lines in the leaves is amazing! micellular, your beaded necklaces are divine! You did such a perfect job with the colors! Both of you captured Fall beautifully! riverrock, I know you're kidding, but I have to remind everyone that this is not a contest. It's a challenge to see what you, yourself, can do to represent Fall / Autumn. For myself, I am going to challenge myself in at least one new way and offer something that I don't usually do. It's a way to step outside my own box.

This is exactly what I was hoping for in an inspiration thread, because it's a display of how wonderfully different and creative everyone is.
