With agate like this, I can see how thundereggs got their names, which is reportedly that the Native Americans of the Northwest thought them to be the eggs of thunderbirds, residing what is now Mount Hood. Thunderstorms occured when the spirits/gods hurled these eggs at each other -- must have been the spirits of teenage boys, engaging in an early version of "Jackass" :-).
