The first one is a local rock called Flower-stone , a breccia of feldspar crystals in basalt. 2nd. is a piece of green banded chert found in near by river. 3 rd. is our famous " Dallasite " the unofficial gemstone of Vancouver island , another form of breccia. thanks for looking.........................Gary

beautiful stuff! Vancouver Island has to have some of the most fascinating rocks of any place in the world. Keep posting, i'll keep watching. welcome to the boards!

Captbob- Yes, I started with a 10 lb. rock , after many times on the saw getting angles right ended up with this piece approx. 2-1/2 in. square. Here's a small lith made from same piece.
