You guys all kill me! We were all looking at this at the same time, and my thought - Jade?
Great minds think alike, lol.

It looks like the serpentine that comes from Washington State.

I'd say bowenite (a variety of fairly hard serpentine). They sometimes call it bowenite jade but it's not jade....Mel

The light lime like color says serpentine all over it. Type it in on eBay and you'll see

Yeah I was thinking jade too. I'm not really a jade person and I've never seen it this light a shade. Location unknown, came from an old rockhound estate.

Serpentine, not a doubt in my mind.

Serpentine, not a doubt in my mind. Lots of variation in serpentine, what I have is a lot darker.

Again, Google bowenite. It is a yellow green serpentine that looks exactly like that. *L*...Mel

If you want to confirm it is serpentine simply do a scratch test.

You're the one that has it in hand but it don't look like conchoidal fracture to me in the pics. Looks typical of serpentine or jade *S*.....Mel

jade is very tough... at least the local stuff... We have a test that works well to determine if it is jade or not... Hit it with a large sledge hammer a few times on the edge.. if it breaks it is not jade.. if it doesn't break you probably have jade. I would take an end cut off the other end and try on that if it was me. This is just the method most of us use up here.
