JR Take a knife to it. Serpentine about as hard as marble. Bowenite notwithstanding. Sabre52 Mel how hard is bowenite? Steel? Obsidian? Jasper? Send me a small slab or end piece and ill do a specific gravity. Unless you can do it yourself. ETA Bowenite = antigorite one of the many minerals in a series of all chemically similar but all having cooled at different rates and having different crystal size. This effects hardness and toughness.
