I didn't know if I wanted to put this in the competition part or if I should put it here but opted for here since I would appreciate help with the shipping on what I'm offering.
When I got back into the hobby about 15 years ago I didn't have much room or money so I collected small pieces of a lot of different rocks and minerals. I suppose I was thinking I would put them in a cabinet to display when I got a place of my own and settled down. Well here it is 15 years later and I still haven't settled down. When I moved here last month including my storage unit stuff I found the containers that had these small specimens in them plus a few more specimens that I collected along the way. The pieces were either collected by me or bought and are from all over the U.S. (a lot of them are from Montana). There is nothing high end or big and fancy but some of the pieces are rather cool, such as a sample of small garnets from Montana or a small piece of agate from a special location. I even have homemade labels for most of them. I have decided that rather than put them back in a box on the shelf I'd like to offer them to someone who would be able to appreciate them. Since they are mostly small pieces of rocks or small specimens I figured a young rockhound who is just starting to collect might enjoy them. This is where you come in. I was going to look through the forum for people who had grandkids or kids into rock collecting who might be interested but I don't have the patience to use the search so figured I'd post on here to see if there is any interest.
I have enough specimens for at least a small flat rate box or even a medium flat rate box right now. I'm sure as I go through more of my rocks I'll find more small specimens needing homes too. Is anyone interested?
All I want is payment for the shipping since I'm not working right now, and maybe a picture on the forum of the happy collector if that is ok with mom, dad, or grandma, or grandpa.
Please reply to this thread if you are interested. If I have more than one person I could split the rocks into small flat rate boxes so more kids could get some.
