Feeling better today. No broken bones in shoulder. Get an Mri on shoulder in a week to check ligament stuff. Torn cartilage in rib to breast plate connection-THAT HURTS. No coughing/no sneezing and only short breathing. Call it the stitch from hell. Thanks for checking on me. Got 3 hours sleep last night, been sleeping upright for short intervals. Today is day 4 and the 3 day soreness finally going down. Cartlidge thing is too painful, serious.
Got 5 hunters over today, they can help me move a pit around to ship Scott. May be Monday before it goes out. Thanks for your purchase.
LOL, foot massage. I miss my Korean girlfriend of 35 years ago. Made the mistake of telling Denise about her fine massages when we first met. No more massages since. Young/dumb and....., made a mistake on that one.
Sent the hunters out to the far corners of 300 acres. Think I'll sneak out to the backyard and try to score. Would love to aggravate those guys with a nice big back yard buck. Hunting in pajamas, don't tell.
Never did get Chip's photo. Did run his food and water out to him so Bill did not have to walk it way over to him. Bill has a fancy way of tying a horse between 2 trees called picketing. Some fancy rope work, Bill a serious horse man. Poor horse has 3 broken teeth and has to Bill feed him softened food. Bill babies that horse. It is the sweetest horse.

LOL, foot massage. I miss my Korean girlfriend of 35 years ago. Made the mistake of telling Denise about her fine massages when we first met. No more massages since. Young/dumb and....., made a mistake on that one. Yep, been there, done that.... Shortly after me and the wife got married she cooked roast beef. It wasn't her fault but it was TOUGH. When I saw how tough it was I playfully made my hand in a gun and pretended to shoot it on my plate. I didn't have roast beef at the house for nigh on 10-12 years!!! They can be a bit touchy about things. The sad part is by the time we *think* we get things figured out we're too old for it to matter.

jamesp, glad to know you are still alive and kicking. Too bad about the foot massage... Just like a guy, give him something he really likes, and he'll have a jones for it the rest of his life. (And yes, never tell what an old girlfriend used to do for you. Take my word on this.) Ed Intheswamp, sorry you're not getting his Viking tumbler or saw. Hopefully, not for a while, anyway. Get better soon, James.

I saw some vultures flying over the greenhouse today, perhaps Intheswamp reincarnated locating a Viking tumbler and Covington saw. Would give up the Viking and saw before the PVC tumbler Ed. Can't wait till you get yours up and running. I must say that it is my favorite piece of rock machinery. It is used for all kinds of other tumbling operations. You tell him rockpickerforever, james not going anywhere. DON'T shoot the roast beef ! we forget, they revenge, LOL. There seem to be a revolving list of things that can agitate the Ms.'s over time. The mention of room temperature has become a silent issue. Dirty looks for putting my sweatshirt on-"it's burning up in here !" I solved the problem by putting a quiet radiant space heater under my desk. bsky4463 The motorized toys are responsible for about every long term ailment on this body. so true BIL just crashed his Harley doing the Dragon Tail up in the mountains. 40 miles of tight banked turns in the Appalachians. Ambulances parked every 2-3 miles along the ride every weekend. He broke bones and had 3 surgeries, recuperating now just fine. But had a brain bleed which got him life flighted. He is said to recover 100%. My hunter buddies have helped out this week a bunch. Picked up 6000 pounds of fire pit bowls in two loads yesterday. They unloaded, separated, placed them on bamboo poles for me whilst UUI (unloading under the influence). They had a blast. Takes me 4 days. Plus the trailer had to be unloaded so I could go back and get rest of them. They were gambling for rights rolling them down the hill seeing who could get a leaner. Alcohol an amazing substance. No matter how I lay down that cartilage will not let me sleep except when doubling up on the opiates Doc gave me. New formed respect for cartilage. I suppose any pressure placed on the rib cage flexes where those ribs connect.

Jim, I'm getting closer with the tumbler. Hey, is yours and my wife long lost cousins or somethin'? Mine is easy-going, but that "temperature" thing...yeah, I'm with you. I'm glad your BIL is doing well, we're not built to tumble, roll, or slide (plus several other things). When we do the stress points just aren't designed for that and something (weakest point, usually) has to give....but, I'm talking to an engineer here. Take it easy on yourself Jim and give your body a chance to *start* healing. We don't bounce like we used to *and* we don't heal like we used to, either. Cartilage/tendons need *some* movement when healing but certainly don't need to be stressed. Chill for a while so you can get ready for the next 500,000 miles on your carcass. Btw, do you take Vit-C? To kick Vit-C into overdrive healing mode take enough to give you the runs...then back off a little bit. I've got a story of a friend who got some metal in his eye and almost followed a "specialist's" recommendation for surgery (which would have blinded him in that eye) but instead went to his old, hometown optometrist who got him to do the Vit-C regimen and he ended up with 20/20 in that eye. The old doctor said that when he went to college (probably in the '40s or '50s) that during one quarter an instructor got all the students to load up on Vitamin C whenever they had an injury (mostly cuts and scrapes) and record the time it took to heal. The following quarter he told the students not to take the Vitamin-C but still record the time it took the injury to heal. In most cases it took 2-4 times as long for the students' injuries to heal without the Vit-C. Just saying.... I semi-resemble your issue with laying down and sleeping. Most of my joints are shot, raising my arms at times sounds like a rock tumbler without water in it. I wish you the best on getting your sleep...that's important, too! I wonder if some of that dense, $100sq/ft foam rubber that they sale at the medical supply places might help you. My brother was a kidney patient for 35 years and when through all kinds of medical procedures and surgeries...when someone he was talking to would say something like "I'm hesitant to take this pain killer because blah, blah, blah..." he would respond simply with "That's what it's made for!". We gotta live and deal with *today*...we'll handle tomorrow...tomorrow. Take it easy, get well... You got a cabbin' machine???....DIBS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just in case) But, I figure you're about like that roast beef I shot...too tough. You'll be back up to speed soon...just give yourself time...and some rest.

Bob found a sexy buzzard Ed. Little on the hump back side LOL. He is right, getting old dang sure not for sissies. Young guys beware. Thank your lucky stars. etc etc James finally recovering Pat. Had to wait till soreness went away to detect damages. Day 5 and a bunch better. Day 3 seems to be the day of pain. Was nervous about hurting left shoulder, had a left shoulder surgery scheduled for this week from old injury and had to postpone till next year. Doc said DO NOT injure left shoulder again or else complications would arise(artificial joint). So I made sure I landed on the right shoulder instead. James lucky. Intheswamp, old timer farmers around me 20 years my senior amaze me at what they can do on the farm. Must be good genes. Never whine, never crying. I hire one of them to help me and he won't even let me take a smoke break. Then we argue about who hired who. Never had that issue w/the younger hands LOL.

Gettin' old definitely not for sissies. I'll piggyback on to what you said.... Young guys, beware...that old man in the mirror is closer than he appears...just blink. No doubt about the oldtimers working us into the ground. I had a neighbor who farmed until he died shy of 90. Our house was broken into back during the 1st Gulf War. The next evening I saw him down the road from us working on replacing a fence (cresote poles...none of this t-pole stuff) and thought I'd ask him if he saw anything the day before. He was at least 80 when this happened. When I drove up he was giving some post-hole diggers a good workout. Laying beside him was a sign that he'd dug up. I asked him why he dug the sign up and he responded that it was in his way of replacing his fence. No arguing with that. I just wonder if he called that number on the sign about "Call Before You Dig!!!"...thankfully widespread telephone outages were not reported. Hardworking?...yep Respectful of modern technology?...who needs stinkin' technology. <grin> My father was another one...made his first crop when he was 8. The guys at work would tell *anybody* that he'd work'em into the ground. Something about the genes, the water, the discipline, the respect, the backbone,...so many things that are vanishing from much of today's society.
