Not Rob, but I didn't try it, don't press unidentified things. Maybe Scott is right ... I am paranoid!

I wallpapered the wall in the office of my reptile shop with those checks. I had at least 20 of them. They even use fedex international to send the check.
I always agreed and had them send the checks!

I fixed the link. It didn't work this morning after trying it a couple times, but it said to try again later. I thought maybe it was YouTube's problem. It works now.

what I done when I received the check is opened up a separate account and deposited the money
the bank told me the money would be on hold for 3 days
I then wrote to the perpetrators of the fraud, told them that they were criminals, that the bank confiscated the check and to never contact me again or risks being tracked by the authorities.
The money sat in that account for 3 weeks. I had access to the cash-- but knew better to take it. It was tempting! After 3 weeks I got notice from the bank that they closed the account, confiscated the money; as it was a fraudulent check.
My questions is: how did such a bogus check get issued that the bank took it be real funds and deposited it? Where did the money actually go? Because it did exist as cash for a short period of time.

well that what I don’t understand if it was just a fake printed check how come the bank wouldn’t be aware of that ? They told me that they would have to hold the check for 3 days. I assume to do a background check
Then they release (or made available) the money Then 3 weeks later it dawns on them the check no good and close the account. I guess the bank is handling it in good faith
But then how does the depositor become responsible party for the money? If I had taken the money --why am I in the wrong?

You think theyre going to track down "Frank" that lives somewhere in Brazil?

Huh How am I suppose to know the check was fake ! even the bank was fooled Not fooled. Following the law. Anybody can make a draft on any paper. I was once paid by draft handwritten on note paper. Buyer was out of checks but had the routing and account numbers on deposit slips. So he hand wrote a draft. It worked. Banks have to assume its legitimate, until source bank says its not. Once got a prescription for antibiotics written on a napkin. Pharmacist loved it.

Local big land owner close by had 1800 acres. Tax bill was like $100,000. He made a poster sized check and stapled it to a 50 gallon wood stave barrel every year. At least back then, they had to return the check after cashing it back to the owner. Mr. Brown hated the tax collector.

Local barber used to tape rubber checks to the front window of his shop, small town, they were made right within a few days.

Holding a sign up for 8 hours while pacing back and forth in front of the store stolen from. "I STOLE FROM THIS STORE" Example, ingenious 'public shaming'
