Last one is Rio Grande rhyolite. The kiddoes bring in a lot of that by mistake, thinking it's jasper. Some is banded and some is kind of orbicular....Mel

The black and white plume is a manganese bearing 'agate' from wyoming, i think. Cant think of the name.
Its not diorite/horneblende. My local mountains are made of that. They look different on the outside.

Scott, that black and white doesn't look "plumey" enough to be the material from Wyoming if you're thinking of the Medicine Bow material. I have a cab that I wrapped of that and it had more distinctive plumes. I could be wrong though.

Maybe it's in the way it is cut that it shows more plumes.

Don't think it's the cut. Whatever the angle, you won't get plumes if they aren't there to start with. What snuffy has is not plumey. Maybe it's granite?
Agree that Diane's cab is Medicine Bow, but that is plumey, it's not the same stuff.
This is some plumey black and white stuff picked up from an estate.
Won't hazard a guess what it is, or where it's from, but maybe this has manganese plumes? Currently residing in the yard.
that looks like our dendritic opal ....some sweeoopser agate is the same but more clear some is white ? Ha, ha! You got "oopsed," braders. When you type Sweet-water, you need to separate or hyphenate the two words. Spelled all together, you get a bad word that this forum does not like. (Still trying to figure out what they all are.) Gets replaced with oops by the bad word police... Found this out a while back when I mentioned the reservoir by me of the same name. Just in case you wondered how that "typo" occurred, lol.
