captbob had a good idea. If I wrap a few more I can decorate our Christmas tree with all wire wraps this year. Not the best photos but you get the idea right? Thanks for looking Chuck

Holy smokes!hat a fabulous display.id have such a hard time parting with them.have you thought about replacing the wooden dowels with a piece of aluminum tubing the same diameter.so they don't deflect from the weight of the cabs?just a thought.or is that an optical illusion. Dave

Dave My original thought was to use steel rods but my wife liked the natural wood look to match the stand. When it had the proper amount of wraps on it the wood dowels held up ok but right now its twice as full as it should be and looks a little overcrowded. Metal dowels may be needed now. Chuck

That would be the best accessorized tree in town!
How about acrylic rods? The wraps would almost look to be floating in air.

I would try and find some of that in person first.i think you will be disappointed.that acrylic at 3/16" will deflect more than your dowel. A polished aluminum tubes the way to go.light weight, rust proof.and stronger than dowel

you just need to shape a new display in the form of a Christmas tree.

You can anodize aluminum at home to a brown/bronze color. That might blend in better.
