I have a wrap on esty and I wad told that it was stripped flint , but someone told me that it only comes from Poland not the USA .

OK, it's only a technicality but some folks say it ain't flint unless it's from chalk and call it chert if it's from limestone. Chemically and structure wise, heck chert and flint are not hardly different at all. We have numerous types of striped chert in the US. I have a hilltop full on my property and all the south Texas gravels are full of it . Some is even fairly striking color wise but many of the patterns and earthtone colors look a lot like the Polish flint too. Here's a rather poor cab from some of the stuff on my hill. Since it erodes from the Edwards Limestone, technically folks call it banded chert. Knappers call it root beer flint...Mel
