Well, my flight home was delayed by several hours due to high wind, which will cause me to miss my backup connecting flight. It's always fun sleeping in airports, right? It's just like the movie The Terminal, right? Anyhow I made good use of the last five hours sitting around by polishing this preform that I brought. While I usually like to dop my stones, apparently the TSA doesn't like people taking nails on carry-on. Thankfully I was a little wiser and brought a soft stone. This is a preform that the kind and generous marinedad sent me when I was first starting out. I think it's serpentine? Certainly soft enough for it. The carnage. 400, 800, 1500, 2500, 3000 grits. The preform Polished back Polished front The importance of lighting Took a surprisingly good polish! My doming wasn't great though Thanks for looking!

That looks great! Time well spent.
Bonus = no fingerprints left for the TSA

Wet sanded, and sopped up the dirty water with paper towels. Just took the photo after the paper had dried.

Not only beautifully polished, but the reflection of the two neon tubes "says" you also domed the cab very well.

Nicely done cab. I definitely wouldn't have the patience to hand do a cab like that. I guess that a better way to spend your time than doing a crossword puzzle.

Yep. That's the way to go to beat time on commute. On the run. Spit will do the trick too. Takes a while, but that's exactly the idea to void the Zombie-nation with their videogmes. Love the look of the cab, the colour , the shine, and all.

Awesome job!! I've hand polished amber before which is really soft, not sure I would want to try anything harder than that.

Very nice! I am impressed with what you were able to achieve with your hand sanding and polishing. That should always remain in YOUR collection.

Very nice! That is a beautiful cab and you got a wonderful shine! It probably helped you maintain your sanity, too. I would go nuts with a wait like that!
