This will be the first ever Thanksgiving I spend completely alone. I am not sure whether to cook a turkey dinner just for me? Have any of you spent it alone? What did you do? Did you cook or just eat out? I love turkey and all the fixin's! Some times being single sucks!!
Sheri
Well, the short answer is...
Only two in this household, but I have cooked a turkey with all the trimmings for at least 33 of the last 36 years.
Thank you everyone for your input. My pastors wife invited me to their house! Can't think of a better place to go!!

Sheri, that's great! You'll get to socialize, share a great meal, and get your spiritual sustenance all in one whack. (Can I say "whack" when talking about religion?)
If you care to hear the rest of the story, by all means, please continue reading. Or, you can just stop now (makes no difference to me), and have a great Thanksgiving.
I started going out to the desert (to Glamis, at that time) in December 1989. Met mrrockpicker there, he worked with my brother back then. I've only stayed home for TG with my family a couple of times. It is required of me to cook said feast for TG in the desert, mainly so we can make turkey sandwiches, lol. I cooked a stuffed, 13 lb turkey on Saturday, so we've got sandwiches covered. Made some gravy last night, and ate some of the turkey and dressing. Will make soup with the carcass (which is in the freezer) when we get home.
At one time, we used to have a communal dinner with our desert friends, but over the years, we started going to other than Glamis (got too crazy!), and then had a falling out with the friends we were going to Ocotillo Wells with. Now, we've started going out to Potholes with our gold prospecting club for TG. They provide turkey and ham, everyone else brings potluck. I just finished making Chile Relleno casserole (that has been a favorite in Quartzsite at the BBQ the last couple of years) to bring. Had to make two half-sized ones, as my big baking dish will not fit in the oven in my trailer!
I don't mind the cooking, or cleaning up all the dishes afterwards. Or even being on my feet for most of the day. What I do mind is my personal consumption of massive quantities of food! And maybe some adult beverages...
Oh, and then there are the lemon bars/lime bars, jamesp ! Yeah, I'm a spoiler. Someone has me well trained, and I am a spoiler.
Leaving Wednesday afternoon, coming back on Sunday. God willing an' the creek don't rise, we'll be going out to the desert between Christmas and New Year's as well. Get to do it all over again. Maybe I'll superglue my lips shut (to keep the calories out, not the words in, lol)!
Will take pics as I have in previous years, and post a report upon my return. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
