could someone please recommend a good photo editing software.
My needs are simple. I want software program that will recognize my camera, upload my pictures and allow me to rename to specific file, and do some simple editing. Crop, resize, brightness ect…
Ever since this Window 10 crap trying to do those simple task have become difficult. I wanta software program that will take control away from Microsoft photo editors. I use to have Adobe PhotoDeluxe version 3. It was really good and simplified. Of course it doesn’t work any more with the newer Windows operating system.
So if anyone as any suggestion, that will trump Windows 10 photo editing boondoggle, please pass it along to me.
Thanks much Ed

edmohs, What brand camera are you using? Some manufactures offer free downloadable editing software designed to be used with their products. Larry C.

I am using Windows 8 and have uploaded Paint Shop Pro from my XP drive and it works well. I do not know if PSP will work with windows 10. You can probably get a PSP program off the internet or I can let you borrow my cd to load onto your computer. I love PSP.

It seems like the camera came without specific editing software. Which surprises me. Maybe I need to research Kodak website? I've had the camera through XP & Win 8. Wasn't having much of problem using Microsoft editing tool. I'm not sure why Win 10 annoys me so much? Perhaps its the blending of mobile apps with desktop software. Operating system trying to satisfy too many different type of users. Thanks for the suggestion Larry!

Ed, I'm using an old Kodak Easy Share Z1285. For primary storage I use Picasa 3, and send pics I want to post to Photobucket. Photobucket has an easy to follow editing program that meets my needs, and bunches of storage. Easy to post here from Photobucket too. A couple months ago I upgraded to Windows 10, and had no loss of pics or services with either program.

Have no desire to try it on W10.

edmohs, I just did a quick search and Kodak did have a free editing software called EasyShare available for download but no longer show it on their website. A couple of other sites still have version EasyShare 8.2 and version 8.3 still available for free download but I see where a user has recently posted that EasyShare 8.3 software doesn't work in Windows 10 . You may want save some search time and contact Kodak's customer support and see what they recommend for use with your camera and Windows 10. Or contact Microsoft support and see if Windows 10 has an option setting that allows you to run older software in an older version of Microsoft software. Either XP or Vista had that option but I don't know if later versions of Windows have but it might be worth asking them. Larry C.

Thanks Larry I've used Kodak EasyShare. I was surprised this Kodak camera I bought didn't come with it. But it was discontinued model- plus Kodak was going through there reorganization at the time & recall having trouble downloading it then. So I punted and stated using Microsoft photo editing.
I actually like MS Paint to do editing. The problem became with Win 10 getting the camera imports organized the way I like. Just became to much of hassle.

Here's the latest update. I've downloaded Picasa/ I was really please with what little I've done with it. It found my camera, imported the images into a reasonable folder, allows me to edit on the fly easily, AND saves my images where I desire. So far easy peasy and free Now if I can just get some decent photo's of 3 pretty lil'hearts....
