I finally broke out the LOS I bought about a year ago. I did these about two weeks ago and finally got around to taking some pictures. I think they turned out pretty good. This one is from the October Wire Wrapping Challenge. This is a piece I wrapped almost a year ago and was waiting for me to use the LOS on it. Montana Agate in oxidized copper wire.

Looks really good.
Tell a little about how you went about it. Was this the Gel form of liver of sulfur? Did you leave the pieces in till they turned black then remove the excess with steel wool or did you just give them a quick dip to add a little color?

@edmohs LOS is livery of sulfur. Used as a patina to blacken items. Diane can tell you more about it. I use Black Magic from Rio.

I should add: Diane, I like your style! Did you LOS the wire before wrapping, or after?

Looks great!!! The patina works perfectly with both pieces. Just a FYI- los tends to lose potency. Mine have lost their vigor around a year old. That second piece looks awesome! You did a great job on the bail.

Those are fantastic! The bail on the Montana wrap reminds me of wicker. I see something new every time I look at this section.

Thank you all. Pat, I used the los after I did the wrapping. Chuck, I used the LOS gel, put just a few drops in some hot water, put the items in the solution and let them sit for a few minutes until they looked like they were turning black, then put them in a baking soda and water "bath" to stop the los chemical reaction. After I dried them I rubbed them lightly with steel wool to clean off some of the patina.
