Wow, last month had some great participation!! Hopefully, this month will have even more.
Seeing how Christmas is the big deal in December. Let's base it on that. Your piece should be somehow related to Christmas. It could be that it reminded you somehow of a Christmas past or of a decoration. Perhaps it reminds you of giving or of peace. Maybe, it reminds you of what you want for Christmas. I dunno- but somehow relate it to Christmas. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I think you probably understand it enough, in a secular way, to join in.
Let's have some fun! I already know what mine will be and I WILL get it done!
Remember, this is NOT a competition. It is a challenge. You should be challenging yourself to meet the goal. There are no winners or losers. No prizes. No right way or wrong way. Just put on your creative thinking cap and come up with something Christmasy.

OK, I got it done! I knew I was going to do this for a long time. I have been making these wrapped lumps of coal for stocking stuffers for everyone in the family. I may sell whats left. They were fun to make and I got rid of some of my colored wire. I guess the threat of a lump of coal for Christmas is probably something most of us share. I'll see about better pictures later.

Before reading your post about what the stones were, I looked at them, and for a few seconds drew a blank. Then of course..coal! I laughed literally out loud because that is such a good idea!!! Coal is totally related to Christmas!! Love the colors on the wire!
I will have to think about what to do for this challenge, and I already have a few ideas.

That is great, I would have never thought of wrapping coal. WTG using the colored wire. Kathy, looking forward to seeing your work.

Thank you, Ladies! Ditto- Can't wait to see what you bring, Kathy. Same with you, Diane. I showed these to the teenage grandkids and let them each have one. They love them! I am making some for them to give to friends. Yay! I pleased a teen! Amazing!

I know it's a busy month. I wasn't expecting a lot of people to join in, but I am feeling pretty lonely here.....

I know most have migrated to Facebook, but I miss RTH! Anyway, I found my coal on ebay, and wrapped some up for girlfriend gifts. Cut a couple lumps into cab sized pieces on my Workhouse, and pulled out silver colored copper, and a bit of sterling and went for it. Here's one of the ones I did last night:

Yes, a lot of people do prefer FB. I just wish I could learn to like it. I'll be sad to see more people slowly fade away into FB land.

I agree. the problem with facebook land is that the posts are not organized and easily searchable. try finding a post on a specific topic in a facebook group from a couple months ago...good luck. Long term knowledge is lost on FB. Look at the richness of threads and topics we have here at RTH; all organized and searchable.

Heck, I'm on Facebook all the time and I love the RTH format so much more. Absolutely agree with you on the searchability.

Yes, I love RTH for the same reasons and then some. I get to scroll around, visit the boards of my choice, get caught up easily, follow what other people are doing and saying-- everything and more all in one place. There's just so much to see and learn!

Ok this is my Christmas entry. This piece of Morgan Hill poppy reminds me of ornaments or bright wrapping paper. I wrapped it this morning to give to a family member for Christmas. This is the very first pendant I can remember doing where I left it bright copper. The colors of the stone just seemed to match beautifully with the bright copper and I couldn't bring myself to patina it.

Wow!!! Really nice, Tommy. For some reason it has a Polynesian princess air about it for me.

Very festive looking Tommy. You are right, that copper looks great with the stone, no patina necessary. You have a very lucky family member whose getting a great present.

Christmas wrapping paper it is! How vibrant, festive and beautiful. I absolutely LOVE that wrap. I agree about the raw copper, too, it looks so right. It looks really cool with the snowflakes falling around it. LOL! Thank you for joining in our reindeer game.
