I'm not very good at rock identification, but I would have said feldspar.

I'm not very good at rock identification, but I would have said feldspar. Can be, yes, I also have read that some agates allow to feldspar to grow inside empty areas... Have you ever heard the concept? Is this really possible? Do you also think that transparent part is feldspar/plagioglass (I'm not sure I spelled it correctly ) or it could be quartz as well?

I really have no idea. I just like pretty rocks. I pick up a lot of stuff that I can't identify.

It almost looks like a granite of some kind, or quartzite. I, like Rob am not a professional rock ID guy, so this is only my 2 cents.

I loosely use the term "quartzite" for many rocks I pick up on the beach like that one.
