Oh man that would be hard on the body parts, tsunami style. Don't think people are aware of what forces are at play.

Hopefully enough sand will get pulled out to make for some good rock collecting. Thanks for the pics.

Wow, carnage! Down here in SoCal, you would find surfers out in the cold, rough water, dodging tree trunks, lol.
Reminiscent of a flash flood, but with more water and less dirt.
Which river outflow is that?

Thanks for sharing the video and photos. I love to watch storms - especially on the ocean. And the wood and rocks on the shore are reminding me of the power of nature. thanks again.

In past years I have found some good aggies there....maybe this weather will rip out some of the sand. Years back I remember one day when the light was right and the gravel bar looked like a jewelry store display... The north coast sure took a beating, Nehalem River hit 50,000cfs - went from 9k to 50k in 48 hours...super harsh for the low country folks in that area....Thank for sharing amygdule . Cheers

Be careful out there. There's lots of road hazards across the Coast Range. Are you familiar with Trip Check? Lots of family in that coastal area..............They steer me in the right directions and information about travel.....
