I have the most wonderful boyfriend! He's been very excited for the past week for my Christmas present to come in, and today he asked me to unwrap it early so we don't have to carry it on our flight to his family's Christmas gathering. That should have been my first clue.

It turns out that he very carefully listened to an off-hand remark I made about a month ago about how cool Rogerley Mine fluorites are. They are so strongly fluorescent that they are daylight reactive! I had contacted the miners about whether they would be at Tuscon and would be offering single crystals, but they warned me that they sell out early so I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Well, thanks to him, I now have my very own specimen! With a bonus coating of druzy!
