this one to make steel 'weld on' handles out of solid steel rod. works like a charm Can bend scrolls, 90 degree brackets, 'S' hooks, U bolts, circles out of square/strip and rod stock. bends cold, no torch needed to heat Bender, Harbor Freight $85 'Slide in' floor mount for easy removal from weather. All concrete slabs poured in a scrap steel form for attaching walls/poles target handle of 1/2" rod, started with 10" stick. Bends em like butter 40 in an hour, paid for that tool X2

Those handles will be tumbled in a steel barrel tumbler with sand for 4 hours to remove rust. Saves a doo doo amount of work, alternative is wire brushing.

jamesp does it take a lot of muscle to bend the rods? That's a pretty nifty little device!

jamesp does it take a lot of muscle to bend the rods? That's a pretty nifty little device! Not bad considering what it's bending. The handle extends to get more leverage. Pencil sized and 3/8" iron takes no effort. 5/8 rod requires strong pull. It bends strip steel too. For decorative scrolls, shelf brackets I tried to buy heavy weld on steel handles but could not find them.
