The 4 I am building should be finished this spring if you can wait. minus motor and blade and you do final assembly (easier to ship) should go for about $ each. Anodized, not painted for longer life. You should be able to put any blade you want on it, from 12 to 16 inch.

phil I am not in a hurry. Most important is to get a solid piece of equipment. I think a lot of folks including myself would like to see your builds

Found a shop that knew what I was about. Should have 4 fabbed and ready for drilling, threading and painting/anodizing in about 3 weeks. Lots of improvements over the old Lortones... 12, 14, or 16 inch blade option comes with every unit. internal or external sump option. painted, unpainted or maybe anodized. Not sure on anodizing. improved base, oil handling, etc.
Figured I'd sell them like this. Options... Buy a kit, assemble yourself. Buy blade amd motor locally and save $$. painted or you paint yourself. will come with pump either way. Complete with everything but motor and blade, or Complete with motor and crimped blade.
Price will depend on what option you choose. Only going to build 4, then I'm retiring!
What do you guys think?

Well I missed that Craigslist find by a hair earlier this week, so I am still looking and would be interested. But, I would like to see some pictures of one and learn a lot more before pulling the trigger. I am sure people on her would vouch for you, but I have a policy not to buy things sight-unseen no matter who is offering.
How did you select the pump/filter? what are your improvements on oil handling? what is the improved base? how did you make the clamp assembly what does it look like? How does your cross feed work, how much lateral movement is there? What is the biggest rock that will fit?

You'll have to wait for the pic. they're being fabbed at this time. should have some in hand in 2 weeks. Pump chosen based on experience with these units. oil handling simply made easier. improved base, etc, you'll just have to wait and see. You don't really expect me to divulge all my secrets do you? Biggest rock? well, biggest I've ever cut in the 14 inch unit I have is about 12 inches long by about 4 inches thick. Made lots of slabs per lock down. Cross feed etc, have you ever seen a drop saw?

used many times, some different styles too, by your description I assume the clamp is like the LS14 (which is slow to use), and the cross feed is accomplished by moving the motor blade assembly. send me some pics when you have them.

Should be picking them up Friday. Then some assembly time, and I'll have a pic of one. LS14 slow? None that I've ever used. they beat the autofeeds by 4 or 5 to 1!

Ok.... went down to the shop today for a final fit and function check. They are looking good! only one or two corrections where they forgot something, and I should be picking them up (fingers crossed!) next tuesday. Then some accessories assembly here at home, and they'll be ready to go! I really like the modification I did where you can use either a 14 or 16 inch blade.... Been a long time acomin', but we're almost there! Pics next week of the pre-assembly.

Don't see any photo option, but yes. All the parts are stacked out in the garage (except the pumps) waiting for a warm day for me to assemble at least one for pics.... getting too old for the cold I guess....

Are you a facebook member? I've got lost of the latest info there in the Lapidary Equipment Marketplace group. Pics of one assembled, and the bells and whistles.
