A large batch of tumbles from last December. Some were 'specimens' that were ground before or during the tumble to expose highlights. Coral that is a mixed batch collected over a 300 mile long area from GA to FL. Rios and a few others mixed in. Link opens in flickr 'lightbox' giving about 5X magnification. May have to give it time to load. Move pointer across screen, white scroll arrow should pop up in right margin. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/15889950589/in/album-72157649884102221/lightbox/

James, love the colors and patterns in those corals! Those Rio's look way cool under magnification! Did you use a macro lens or magnify in photo editing or both? Either way, great job on the tumble and fantastic job with the photos!
Thank you for including a few corals in tumble you did! I will take photos soon.....the wife hijacked the whole box for a Christmas display.

I will take photos soon.....the wife hijacked the whole box for a Christmas display. It is a macro in a sort Jeremy. Call it a 24mm focal length. Or a 2:1 macro. Not a 1:1 macro, they get much closer and shake. 1:1 is a tripod situation. 2:1 will allow a minimal lens prop. I think I rested the front of the lens on a cracker box to hold it steady. And yes, then cropped them. Photos taken in higher density setting on camera so they would allow cropping. 2:1 plus crop plus higher density setting and all works well. Strong light helps so you can have a shorter shutter speed. I woulds guess 1/60th and F4 or 1/30 at F6-about so. In the sun is easier, real fast shutter due to strong light. Try to get the photo bang on with out editing to keep clarity.

Quite a collection, and well polished. You sure come up with a lot of color. Thanks for the show.
