Like many of you, I've been wrapping like crazy for the holidays. In addition, I have done a great barter with djaxon (if anyone remembers the recent thread about that barter). He sent me some beautiful cabs for myself. Then he added four extra ones for me to wrap. I took pics quickly by my lamp instead of waiting till morning for daylight, so i apologize for that.. This first one is my favorite. The stone is just so beautiful. He asked for copper wire on this one and it was a great choice. I took the pic quickly by my lamp instead of waiting till daylight to take a better pic, so the stone is even more beautiful than it is in this pic. This one he asked for copper wire as well, and I included some swirls for something different. The next one is shown in copper but Don requested the stone to be in sterling silver. This was my practice design as I forgot to take a pic of the final one in sterling, grrr.. So this is not perfect at all (I had changed my mind on the binding at the bottom so that is all messed up but it was practice, so oh well) But this is pretty much what the final piece looked like, except in sterling: The next is a beautiful cab in sterling silver..I took a pic before I fixed the crooked wire on the bail.. It was so fun to do and Don was very happy, which in turn made me very happy. I am beyond excited to wrap the rest of his cabs and post pics. For that matter, I now have a great selection of cabs from him as well as Chuck (Drummond Island Rocks) that I am wrapping, too. I might start another post for my wraps of Chucks stones... Anyway, hope you like them..

Kathy,
I feel fortunate to have made this barter. I even like the word "barter." Don't know why - I just like it. The stones you wrapped for me are wonderful. One (the charoite in sterling) is a birthday gift for a dear friend and she will love it. The other three are for my wife (44 years on 12/20/15) and she loves them. Thank you so very much Kathy. WE WILL DO IT AGAIN - BARTER!

Nice job on all of them. I agree the copper really works well with those two stones. Sounds like you are making out very well on the bartering. Keep wrapping.

Do you have any suggestions for wrapping shark teeth? I am new to all of this but want to learn.

What is the purple stone? It Is beautiful. It's charoite, given to me (as a slab) by a local lapidary (Jim Souter). It is beautiful in sterling and our friend is just crazy about it. thanks again KathyG

You are welcome, and I am really glad your friend likes it.
Traelyn, as for shark teeth, I have not wrapped that or anything similar. Perhaps do a search with sharks teeth in the subject and see what pictures come up. That is a great way to get ideas. I think a sharks tooth would need to be done different, like putting the wires around it vertically and not up and down like a regular border wrap, because the shape of it is so much different than a cab.
