Steve hasn't been slacking, Ed, his Echostones are phenomenal, Facebook has taken over his prime advertising, like a lot of folks. But i am pleased he dropped by to check out my rocks (thanks Steve).
Cheers, Ed.

I bought a kilo of premium Lapis from an acquaintance a few years ago who is from Afghanistan. He brought it over years ago when the turmoil was just starting up. He said when the Taliban took over the mine they started blasting the material out to get more to market because they are desperate for money to support their war efforts. He said all the material coming out of the country over the last few years has minute fractures throughout the material thus making it nearly worthless as a lapidary material. Bob

They are quite the Blue everyone wants.
I have a piece of Lapis I'm dying to start on, thanks for the inspiration.
Curious why you mark the major and minor axes on the grinding face?

Very nice mini-tutorial with a beautiful result krazydiamond. Do you still have the set after all these years? I restored the photos to remove the giant hideous photobucket watermarks.
