For us here the year is done, so wishing you all the best for 2016 What a year its been. Finally traveling home, a good and secure working situation, a healthy family and last but not least a very creative one. I certainly know my blessings. Just hoping and wishing the same for all of you. Chin up, the year is fading, and a new one is born. With it come new opportunities, make sure you see and take them, better fail on the road than ruefully thinking about missed ones. My year certainly brought more rocks than expected. Lots of variety Finally finish some longstanding projects Some spanning the year And finally a feared project, just finished today, with results that I'm quite happy with (hopefully will get someday pictures that show what I see). So again, Happy New Year, make it the best yet! Kurt and Family

are you going to be in that carvers competition again? No plans for it yet, but likely to try to keep things interesting. If the jade Symposium, and we can choose our own material, then most likely yes.

Funny, I would trade 6000 pounds(exaggerating) of my cherished tumbles for 1 pound of kk carvings(heirlooms).
HAPPY NEW YEAR KURT !!

I like looking at photos of them. It's like complete them and box them. Maybe the photos are the fun part Kurt. Definitely like drooling over your crafts. Liking the effects of the various lighting. It's a lot about the light. Trying to muster energy to move the finished rocks. You are lucky in that yours will probably fit in a suitcase. I just went outside and took a picture of my mess. OMG, a mess it is.

Wow KK, you did some outstanding work this year! I'm going to have to start keeping a closer eye on the carving forum.

I'm going to have to start keeping a closer eye on the carving forum. Thank you. No not having a closer look. We need more people to give it a try. Carving comes just as easy as cabbing and tools needed are in most of your houses already. Anyone who has the patience to get those fabulous domes, girdles and/or shines, has everything that is needed for carving.

Don't sell yourself short kk, I don't have an artistic bone in my body, I couldn't even draw a pretty stick figure with a huge budget, 30 years of time and a professional coach.

Don't sell yourself short kk, I don't have an artistic bone in my body, I couldn't even draw a pretty stick figure with a huge budget, 30 years of time and a professional coach. Neither can I. I still give my favorite teacher from Secondary school, a headache today, because I nearly flunked his art-classes, and today I have the honor of him wearing some of my pieces. I don't draw, but somehow stone seems to be a medium that I can work with.

I believe you, but it sounds hard to believe that you can't draw. You carve all those beauties and can't draw? Further evidence of talent, I say. Happy New Year!
