I'm pretty proud of this agate. I rotary tumbled it for about 6 weeks (4 weeks in first stage, 1 week each second and third)... It was looking pretty good after that so I polished it on my home made end lap that I wrapped with leather. Used finish polish on it and this is the result: Thanks to everyone for their advice and help. I am hooked!! Thanks---Steve

Those speckles are great, little details like that are what keeps me looking through rocks.

That is a very nice Laker. Four weeks in stage one on a Laker is about minimum. I plan on ten weeks but some are ready early like that. I am a little puzzled by your choice to hand polish VS tumble polish. I have always had better luck going the other way and even tumble polish my cabs to get a better finish then I get on a full cab setup.
Why only one photo? I assume this came from a batch of goodies. Are you hand polishing more from the batch?

I have the rest of the batch tumbling in polish, but I put together a end lap polisher that I wrapped in leather and I really wanted to try it out. It's not something I would probably do all the time, but I felt compelled to try it...

Nice piece can you show a photo of it wrapped ? I'm not wrapping it. I am brand new to the whole rock collecting/tumbling hobby and haven't even considered wrapping anything. I am happy that they are pretty and will eventually build a display box for my collection... Thanks---Steve
