Another stellar batch. Really love seeing nice banded agates. That's what coaxed me into this whole game and those are textbook examples of the best tumbling.

I sure do like your yearly tumble rough splurge. Is that first agate a Bahia? It's really cool, whatever it is. I also really like the one just before the fishy one. And I like all the others too.

First three are bahia's for sure. The rutilated quartz from rock shed was a little disappointing for $20 a pound but I am getting a few good pieces out of it but a lot of it was just two small to tumble any imperfections out of. One of my early tumbles was citrine and amethyst from the rock shed. It was not my favorite tumble because of all the fractures. I really don't like fractures in my finished rocks.

The quartz is not a favorite of mine but I wanted to have some for our next show. The rose quartz is usually a much better tumble then the citrine, amethyst, clear quartz and smokey quartz. Chuck

Found a couple of pebbles at the Rio that were dark purple and had blood red spots in it. A bit dark, but probably the prettiest rock I found there. There is a fancy tile shop in $ part of Atlanta that has imported quartzite that will stun you. I think it comes out of China in 2" X 2" tiles. Some of it sparkles like that sparkle jasper type rock ?? Tile industry Copper quartzite is nice, but the lapidary guys must have finer quartzite's.

Can't see all the pics right now but what I can see is great.
I did some rutilated in 2012. Got mine from Kingsley. Thought it was decent rough. They still sell it, and for less than the Shed. You might try theirs if you get an itch to roll some again.

I just finished a batch of amethyst. Never again. So many fractures I practically want to throw the batch out. Of course, I probably did some things wrong, but either way, I was disappointed...
