I just thought any sellers who haven't already heard might want to know that the USPS just raised their Domestic Flat Rate Priority Box Shipping Rates. The new rates are:
Large Priority Flat Rate Box - $18.75
Medium Priority Flat Rate Box - $13.45
Small Priority Flat Rate Box - $6.80

New price for Flat Rate Small Box from $22.00 to $33.00 Thank you for calling that to our attention. That is quite the increase for international! We always enjoyed dealing with our international lapidary friends but had already stopped shipping Internationally due to high international shipping costs with eBay charging a 10% final value fee on the shipping costs too, it took too large of a bite out of an already narrow profit margin. And also due to the liability of eBay and Pay Pal's policies of holding the seller financially responsible for lost or damaged items if the carrier/s refuse to accept responsibility for losing or damaging a package. EBay does have a global shipping program but I've read about too many sellers complaining of having costly problems with that program too. Also have had a couple of international sellers make purchases through eBay only to later back out of the sale after learning how much international shipping cost. So then had to go through the hassle of getting eBay to refund final value fees. It just got to where shipping Internationally just wasn't worth it for us. Larry C.

First class International really went up a lot, too. I mail light pieces, under 4 oz. I think I read that the general increase there was 20%. I have mailed twice overseas since the hike, the prices were outrageous. This will hurt my sales.

You are describing my problem right to the point, This is why I offer same and if not cheaper products through my web site just to avoid the ridiculous Ebay fees so I can help to split the shipping cost or give out the discount. So far I have 46 great and loyal customers that I supply in Europe and have to do my best to cut the cost. Its getting harder and harder to make any money but I'm lucky as I have my customers ordering through my site rather the Ebay.
