Had to cut the base off and break off the top to get a clamp in the vise on this one. Risky cut, did it anyway. Worried about it rotating or breaking in the center. Spiny, real finger cutter. This small spot has many of these partial silicifications. Not common. Not a place to go barefoot in the river. Even petrified coral festers wounds like living coral. Multiple compartments from left to right. Root side on left. Closer in, not sure what Mother Nature was doing here. All these in highly compacted clay, sealed from the environment. Tumbled from similar. Hard stuff.
