The more I look at this guy's tumbles (and they are BEAUTIFUL ! I am humbled) I think what is he doing? correct me if I am wrong. Long time in stage i with strong cutting grit 40-70. and then longer. Culling bad rock. Longer. then Lot-o......standard. But I'm getting that the grit load is a bit higher in the early stages? Si, no amigo? ( i might be remembering wrong but those carloscinco tumbles might have been up there too)

I have only been at it for four years but if you multiply that by how many barrels I run it adds up to a good amount of experience. My two biggest pieces of advice are that nothing comes out of stage one till it is either perfect or as perfect as it will ever get. The other would be getting a vibe tumbler. All of the steps done in a vibe tumbler are much easier to control then in a rotary. In the rotary it is not very easy to open the barrel multiple times a day to see how its behaving.
