I'm not sure what it is but I have a backyard full of it. Can I use it for filler for agates? I need some small stuff to put in with them. Thanks, Andrea

Probably wont hurt anything but is it something that will turn out good? I prefer to order smalls of something I actually want to tumble and mix that in with my larger stuff. That way all my grit and labor for clean outs is not in vein. I am running several pounds of apache tears with my larger Lake Superior agates in 46/70 right now. When the agates are ready for the vibe my filler will switch over to ceramics and same with the tears in separate loads. No problem running them together in stage one though.

Thanks Chuck. I agree...something else would be better. I was able to find some trim scraps that I'm going to toss in with the others. We recently moved and my rock stuff isn't organized yet.

meviva, make sure they aren't too soft like limestone or sand stone. If they are soft a few won't hurt. But if you add more than 25-30% you may get too much mud. i can't tell what they are but they appear to be soft.
If there is crushed concrete in it avoid it, concrete makes a lot of gas.

Trim saw scrap is my #1 filler of choice for stage one. I guess I forgot you had a trim saw. Those scraps are usually high quality material or they would not have been on my saw Chuck

agreed, trim saw scraps make the best filler, for sure. even if it all mainly disappears, some of the pieces that do survive can come out quite nicely.
