This coral with a unique ugly color. Encased in very dark rind. Likely spent a large part of it's life in very old organic matter. Do find ice age mammal bones in this area(giant tortoise). It was almost 2 feet long, just a silicified splinter of a much larger coral head. Sawn in thick slabs to be chipped into tumbles. Will heat treat the other half. S. Georgia Will be returning to this location. A very smelly gray clay pocket about 10 feet long full of spiny partially silicified coral heads. Weepy clay with a spring feed behind it. Normally the death plates are in 1 to 4" sheets. Even the death plate silicified in blob like nodules. Floaters are bryozoans. Also cut to be chipped into tumbles. Items found 8 miles apart, Withlacoochee river.

It won't sink if you go ahead and build a small barge to go behind the boat...a 15 or 20 footer might do the trick...if Jimi uses some self-control that is....

Hmm, I wonder if multi-color baits have ever been scientifically studied for bating gators....you might be on to something, James. Don't forget to document it all...you might get some kind of federal grant...then if you could bridge that over to hunting/baiting pythons you might really hit a homerun with the state of Florida!!! The sky's the, er, well, the river's the limit!!!!!!! (and I guess the gators). And Jimi won't mind as long as he gets to pick up a rock all along... If you need help with the documentation I might could be bribed to come along... broseph82jamesp

Maybe all those tattoos would excite the gator. Maybe a lady gator would be a likely target. They prefer rotting flesh. Maybe you and I are better bait.

You're right...we're a bit on the downhill slope of things. Dang, that means Jimi gets a nice lady gator and we get a snaggle-toothed old scarred up pair of alligator shoes...
