Tried 10mm ceramic ball media in a Viking vibe. Balls put divots in the rocks. Unfortunately a pseudo polish reveals damage that cannot be seen with a coarser 220 finish. In this case divots from ball shaped media were not completely removed by SiC 220. The damage became apparent after a day in AO 500 when a slight polish began to form. Will add SiC 220 and give them another sanding. Probably should have used SiC 80 to remove them in the beginning, thought about it. Original damage: After 2 days in SiC 220 and 1 day in AO 500, quartz pea gravel media. camera focused on rock's surface: Level of polish after 2 days in SiC 220 and 1 day in AO 500. camera focused on reflection and not rock:

It sucks when experiments don't pan out. But thats why there called experiments. On the bright side of life. You have a lot of ammo for your new slingshot.

Exceptional Canadian approach, love you guys. Nice to see those guys hanging out singing.
Looks like another visit with the SiC 220 will put a whooping on them. Not quite ready for the sling shot.
Always been my nature to find out 'what if'. Damaged tumbles better than broken bones LOL
