I got these beauties from RockJunquie (TelaRocks on Etsy) a while back. Tela was so gracious and is a wonderful artist: I sure admire her cabochons and wraps. The first is Pacific Coast Picasso (I went thread searching and found a good picture she posted here with some discussion about the nature of the stone). It received Argentium, but the stand is brass and steel. The second is Turkish rainforest chrysoprase she got from Shotgunner (Scott). It is deep rich green and copper and very reflective. This one got copper, quite a bit of it. I tried liver of sulphur out, too.

That didn't go well. I'll try again.

Hi!! Thank you so much for sharing I'm really happy to see these stones get such great wraps. That second one is really special in copper. Your weaving is amazing!! Isn't that Picasso sweet?? I can't wait to cut some more.

Thank you, Tela, I appreciate it. The wrapping is great fun and it is great to get to share it here alongside the truly stellar pieces that I see posted every day. Yes, the Pacific Coast Picasso is very appealing . . . and eye catching. A number of people have asked me about it.

I can't wait to cut some more. Regarding Pacific Picasso. I was "in habitat" a few weeks ago. I saw a few seams of it. None I could exploit, but its there. It formed exactly like seam agates elsewhere. I will stick my neck out and say, 'it's agate'.

Nice work both of you!!! It is rewarding seeing my rocks in action Hi Shotgunner and thank you. I’m glad you can make these rocks available. By way of reference, on a whim I picked up a wire wrap starter pack and a $5 box of hobby store turquoise a year and a half or two ago. The wrapping was great fun but the rocks quickly offended even me, who scarcely knows a rock from a jersey cow. Hoping to polish off the lurid finish, I tossed them in my kids’ tumbler with stage 2 grit (where we left off years ago), and after eight hours (all I could take) dumped out a chunky, ugly mess. Et voila, a new rock fan was created. So very glad for this board.

Thank you jamesp! Been a fan of your tumbles ever since I ran across one of your arresting "Driveway Gravel" posts. I've been working for awhile on getting a nice group of tumbles. The shortcomings are mine, not the rocks; I learn, but slowly. (I did get a real tumbler: lortone 33A. Much, much quieter.)

Those are beautiful. I love the copper with the second one and you made both cabs look great.

Hi drocknut, and thank you! Soft copper is wonderful wire to work. Since it’s relatively inexpensive I don’t cringe every time I pull several feet off the spool.
