This one with 64 inch table and 36 inch pit. A 30 inch pit would probably be more than adequate. Seats 4. Got to test it. If it conveys heat well 8' to 12' versions with bigger pits will be fabricated on custom order basis. A 12 foot unit should seat 10 easily. Forced air ducting under table likely to be incorporated. Perhaps double shell pit for efficient wind proof heat scavenging. Individually adjustable by each participant. A center mount smoke hood in design mode. Concept derived from 42" X 48" steel computer table with rolled edges in house. Radiant heater under table. Very comfortable. Setting sun in Gi Gi's eyes.

Put a grate over it and you got Korean BBQ!!!!!! Neat concept, not a good poker table, though. Nice job on it...your workmanship is (as usual) great!!!!

That is badazz!!!! Makes me want one, but delivery/shipping would be a bit of a problem :-0
A neat touch might be the addition of a tile surface as an option

Like the idea, will it be hard to clean out?
What does it weigh? Support someone sitting on it okay? Two someones?
Using a white tshirt, will the rust from the table wipe off? Basically asking if Ms Southern Belle wannabe can get rust on her favorite white cardigan from table.

captbob and radio A quick wire brush job using an angle grinder and an acrylic coating every year or two will seal that metal. Yes, must climb on top to do clean out. May move pit to edge and do forced hot air to those seated. A stainless top is doable too. I have galvanized those tops too, but some would worry about fumes at the edge of the fire. Intheswamp, grill doable. A little list of other options on possible 7-12 foot tables with roof: forced air heating w/ducts under table sink on edge sound grill(to replace pit if preferred) on edge with forced air for heating via under table ducting cabana roof lighting smoke hood complete gazebo enclosed with 'out the roof' exhaust stack and heat scavenging from stack refridge complete wiring and laptop connections floor heat/heated chairs water boiler steam room dry wood storage thermal mass in form of rocks/sand/water storage The big tables would be heavy enough to have at least a serious umbrella Smoke management high on list. modular options Done on contract basis Already have two floor systems and a 7 human steam room wood fired in a detached structure. Love them. Detached wood heated space is heavenly. A must have in a cold environment.

Very nice, James! It's a great addition to your fine line of outdoor living appliances. People love to sit around the fire and gaze into it. Of course, it couldn't be a huge fire.... think human marshmallows.

James, if you gotta use an angle-grinder and coating every couple of years that might be a snag in regards to folks "clicking the button". BUT...sounds like a possible "$ervice Contract" type of thing...plus that would give you a bi-annual (or whatever) chance of selling them something else like your new "Wood-Powered Grill Rotisserie" or the hot beverage attachment. And definitely a plate with an umbrella-holder to turn it into a solid table for summer use...it'd be kinda warm to sit around when using the grill when it's 95F in the shade.

Tested it yesterday and it radiated well to lower extremities and warmed hands nicely at the outside 6-7 inches of the table. as the fire burned down the 'too hot to touch' inner section of the table reduced in size. It is in proportion to keep humans warm right down to the feet. Kept my coffee warm. Much more effective than a floor model. Made a tallish floor model also with the bonnet/ flange arrangement. It does darn well too, the heat comes up and around the bonnet. And feeties fit up under. Warm feet help.

Sticking your legs up under it and catching radiation is a big bonus Ed. No need to touch the table really. The heat does rise about the edge of the table and provides heat to upper body. it's dialed in about right. Best fire pit I have sat next to hands down.
