...but there again, relocating you next to captbob and his chihuahuas would make it easy for you to snag some of that fine coral that captbob's been dragging in so that really wouldn't be penalizing you. Smack-ro...is that anything like Scoobie Doo's "Rut-Ro"..??
I gotta go find my meds.....

I see the resemblance. Common for people to look/behave like their dogs. Note the wisdom and confidence....

I mean, you know, with each other? Your gonna make him grumpy(ier) and he will get you Ed. We have those big Ridgebacks and we too detest those yappy little dogs. A visiter set out a high speed little Italian Greyhound(which have great temperaments). That little sucker looked back in the rear view mirror as it dusted my dogs. My girls came back with tongues dragging the ground, the little Greyhound ready for round 2 chase. Broke a rib laughing

<chuckle> Those ridgebacks are still wondering how that Italian did that. They probably think he's a Redbull addict or something. Well, as for chihuahuas...I really don't care for them much, either. Yeah, I figure I'll get bombed by captbob...ah well, we all gotta go somehow. This past year both of my Mother's dogs that we inherited went on to the happy rabbit hunting land in the sky. My MIL's (we inherited) dog caught a westbound a couple of months ago. That leaves us with "Buddy"...the vet calls him an English bulldog mix...I think he might have some boxer in him...who knows, maybe some chihuahua. Anyhow, the vet wrote him off for dead four years ago...cancer. Buddy's still kicking, but he's slowing way down. Besides the cancer, the vet said he'd never seen a white bulldog like Buddy that lived nearly this long. Buddy is a rare one...demands respect from visitors but the grandbabies can dissect him a alive and he'll just lay there and let'em. I know he won't be around for too much longer and I'd love to have a young dog for him to "train" for yard work. We live in the country and dogs are *good* to have. Problem is we live beside a state highway and getting one to get road-wise can be an iffy proposition. Anyhow, the wife doesn't want another one...gets too attached to them, kind of ties you down if you can't find someone to "take care of the dog" when we go on a trip, ect.,. So, I'm not sure if we're nearing our "dogless years" or not. All the dogs that we've had in the past were either walk-ons or inherited...what would be a low-maintenance, good natured, not-too-big/not-too-small dog that is great with kids?

LOL Redbull
yep, easy to get attracted to those fur balls. sounds like the white one has you guys wrapped.
naw, dog years done-no way. Take him rock hunting.
busy roads and dogs not a good mix. Don't mind if natural causes get them but getting hit is another story. we got one with cancer, she too has lived way past vet's predictions. She is 12 and still going strong. Glad he was wrong.

Yeah, he's a good ol' friend. He was actually my wife's nephew's dog. He was staying with wife's mother who lived beside us (mother-in-law trailer). Seems my wife got to feeling sorry for Buddy and took him a really manly pink blanket to go in his plastic doghouse (he was chained to the front porch). As it turned out he should have been named Houdini as he could break/slip out of that chain on a whim. Next thing we knew he was happily prancing around the back porch with the pink blanket in his mouth...Buddy was moving in!<GRIN> ...he's been here ever since and he has a fixation on pink blankets, jackets, etc.,...the girls have to be careful where they leave their sweaters lying.<g> But, it's getting hard for him to get up and down and he's been deaf for the last year. He knows us so well he can tell if one of us is sick or something and it worries the stew out of him. He really is a good friend.
Agreed...highways and dogs do not mix. I grew up within a half mile of where I now live...back when I was a kid I don't even remember a dog getting run over...since we've been down the road we've had a couple get killed. People didn't drive back then like they do now...speedwise, attentionwise, give-a-sh*twise, etc.,.

The things we put up with for our dogs. They sound like part of your family Ed. That's the rule here.
