I had to pry my car doors open yesterday due to 3/8" coating from freezing rain. Coming down at 32-33F. Today is 15F and wife had me come outside and free wet mop frozen to concrete in seconds. She learned not to put the wet mop outside after mopping. Us dumb southerners. Yuk

My wife is no master computer buff but does well following software instructions. She has frequented Wix workshops. We both did the photos and I helped with content. She did the hard part in the design. And because she did the site, I can make changes and additions in a minutes notice. Just linked it to Etsy-Facebook-Houzz where the pits are sold thru. Next step is Search Engine Optimization. Then making it a purchase site. Funny thing about search and the net. I am a little one man shop and several of the bigger guys use my "firepitsatlanta" name as their key words. Apparently I am swinging the ax pretty hard. Thank you sir for using my company name. By doing that they bring me up under their coat tails in a search. Right under their expensive google ads/maps. They are paying high powered web site design/SEO companies. Namely my local friends at S and S fire pits whom probably got their fire pit biz idea from me as I have been doing this twice as long as they. S and S does about 40 out of 52 weekends at the trade/art festivals. I do zero.(too busy playing with my rocks). Anyhoo, check out the old lady's workmanship. She is very competitive, ha, lioness comes to mind. www.firepitsatlanta.comIn the process of doing my Wix site(I payed here by the way), she trashed her site built by a pro and made her own Wix site for her dog enterprise(hobby). www.rokishoals.comMother and daughter playing

Your websites are very nice. Many times homemade websites are obviously homemade. I've made some myself and it's not easy to make them look professional. Your wife did a lot better than I did. The photography on them is excellent too.

Found a niche she really likes that is also marketable and doable at home. I know you are pretty savvy on the puter, taking that as a serious compliment. I still use 'reveal in finder' all the time. You taught me that trick.

Now that is the kind of websites I like to roam around on , very simple and easy to navigate . Real professional looking sites . Those of us who never had a need to learn all this digital stuff until it got crammed down our throats really appreciate sites like yours .

Excellent websites, jamesp. Love the backstories, and your wife has some gorgeous photography on those sites. Those dogs couldn't be any cuter. You, on the other hand, kept your mask on in all the pics, I noticed.

Weighs 20 pounds. She has me plow the 1 acre sand field in Florida before bringing the dogs so she can do photos of them kicking sand up. Sand photos too cool.

However, for search engine optimization it lacks content to be really effective for SEO. An issue. Wading thru that dilemma. Riding coattails of my competitors with a much more friendly website if that helps.

Absolutely splendid websites. Extremely professional looking. That Roki Shoals site ... all I can say is WOW! My wife unit is gonna love checking all that out and probably won't miss seeing a single (amazing) picture. My one suggestion/comment is on the fire pit site. In the pricing area, the prices are all in a large (proper) font and bold until the last 3 bowls. Very insignificant deviation, but noticeable and probably a pretty easy fix to maintain page consistency. Thumbs up to Denise!!!!!ETA: and, yeah... good call on the welder's mask! 2nd ETA: AND, I learned a new word! sproinking

Allows me to chastise too. She is looking into it immediately and efficiently with great motivation and desire and if not sooner.(she does not like that phrase in the command form) Nor when she is not looking at me when I ask her to do something (acting/is confused) and I tell her to "Watch my finger". (finger pointing at task). Instant red face. Rocks flying thru air. She cracked my little brother's ankle hurling a rock at him from 20 yards away. ETA's seen. Sproinking, look up Ibizan Hounds hunting on youtube. Insane sproinking on Island of Ibiza/Spain. very strange breed skill

She must in the middle of fixin' that price thing. Some still original (larger font) new ones smaller (but in bold) the larger font looks better (IMHO). Somewhere in between may be best. In the Our Story section, why is there a hyphen in 30-acre? nit picking now ETA: will be adding "watch my finger" to my annoying the wife repertoire.

Great job, I've been looking up a lot of stuff on the web recently, and so many sites by much larger companies are really hard to navigate, yours so easy. Very complete and well done.

"watch my finger" may be the fastest way. 3 words and a finger, so easy. Phenomenal results. Will "point out" the hyphen AFTER she cooks dinner. She is dead locked on the price font lol. Frustrated. May re-point that out. Again, after dinner is cooked. Wife may retort with cramp in her middle finger, forewarned.

Well, why those sites are so discombobulated we will never know. Are they trying to run good customers off ? KISS Made a comment to a very talented engineer friend about his site. It has no title referring to the product ! Are we supposed to read your mind ? He looked at me like I am a dunce. Genius with design does not mean talented marketing skills. Gee wiz. Introductions are everything. Simple and basic follows. Crazy stuff Larry. Often Ebay is fastest and easiest.

I really like the fact that your website does not have moving pictures. I actually find those annoying. However, I was much more impressed with your firepits! They are totally awesome and the pics show the high quality. Your prices really do make them affordable to anyone - very impressive!

Wow - that's a really nice website. I used to dabble in web design and I love a well built site that is clear and clean and easy to navigate.

Thanks vera and Tommy. Many sites frustrating out there. Simple and straightforward is best. If you have the urge to jump to the next website to escape the one you opened something is seriously wrong. And don't waste my time ! Those urges come up more frequently than not. What are people thinking ? I have a good time tinkering with those pits vera. Tommy, selling on the internet is kinda exhilarating. Computer orders a lot different than having to engage people constantly. I hired an eager young gal that works with Wix to tune up the SEO part. I hired her for $100/month for 12 months. She asked if she could take on the project. She coached us along in the initial set up. We liked her style and energy.

I view 99% on mobile.
Looks solid. Rock solid. Simple. Elegant and easy to navigate. Completely responsive.
Well done!
Something like 80% of all online purchases are on phones now.

"Something like 80% of all online purchases are on phones now." Scott, the target was the phone friendly design. We were aware of the 70-80% phone usage going in. Wix has a phone friendly website design software, and a computer friendly designer. Two. Wix said to build your website in the phone friendly software and it would automatically set itself up in the computer version. Close, but not quite. So we perfected the computer version in the computer software, and went back to the phone software and cleaned up the phone version. The modifications to the phone version did not hardly effect the computer version. My wife did it all. I would guess she spent a patient 100-120 hours on the fire pit site. Learned the Wix software. Did the more complex dog site in 80 hours. All future work will be minor. Once built changes are easy for her. I found the Wix software a challenge. Not my forte.
