Tela, we are so much alike, it ain't funny! I could have written that about myself. Love the last sentence, I think they are all pretty much that way. But don't get me wrong, they sometimes have their good points. Think I'll keep mine around for a while. If we just didn't have that ole "Y" chromosome curse we would be ok... Well maybe not OK, but some what better.
Maybe.

I would not trade my path in life. I agree with Tela, Gimme that 30 year old healthy strong body back. I'd make a deal. Contract for 80 years and stop the aging from 30 to 80. I'll keep it in the basement and dust my tombstone dated 2037. Just let me be pain free and half youthful till the age of 80.

Wife Unit just called to say her flight home was delayed due to mechanical issues. May miss her connecting flight.
I hope that my laughin' didn't convey a lack of concern for her travels.
She probably believes that I needed to know, thinking that I might pick her up at the airport.
As if a service to pick one up at the airport and transport one to a desired destination hasn't ever been thought of. Three hours out of my day (evening) OR she hires a ride home. hmmmmmm - what to do ...
*snort*
aside: IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO SPELL OUT L@UGHING HERE WITHOUT THAT TURNING A WRITTEN WORD INTO A SMILIE FACE THING!
just sayin'

Likely a deserved recipient of spousal wrath ? Sometimes decisions like this go unnoticed, sometimes not. Please update on outcome. Please turn off the Gulf moisture valve ! Wind too. Last night's wind left half the limbs on the ground. Guess that is remnants of Harvey. Looks like Miss Irma is getting ready to make her presence known. Hoping she turns north and moves up the seaboard. The green track will dry us out in Georgia and Florida. Makes the coral rivers dry down.

Hurricane Bob + Hurricane Irma Yep, Mama gots one eye on that boy at all times. Ask him about the sign on his desk, cracks me up everytime I think about it. Me or you Tela. Looks like money is on you. Speaking of wives, mine asked me for some small gauge copper wire to wrap fine leather braid on a show leash. She showed it to me after she wrapped it and I said "It ain't Tela" lol. Retort in form of @#$%^&. Knew that was coming. It's similar to being a daredevil making comments like that. Thinking Evil Kneivel just before jumping 40 cars. Sets the tone for the next few hours. OK if planning an escape from the house for a spell. Banging dishes and slamming cabinets. And denying she is banging and slamming. Denial to take a dig, basically tellin a lie lol.

Watching Irma like Bob's unit no doubt watches him. Tela said Bob's unit *snicker* Now, I find the assumption that she watches me interesting (sexist?). Why would I need to be watched? I can 85-90% guarantee that if I drive over to Tampa to pick her up (probably in one heck of a thunder storm by the looks of things) that she wouldn't even consider saying Thank You. Just like she won't say a thing (if she even notices) about the house being spotless or all the work (considerable!) I've done around here while she was away. She will, however, notice what I have yet to do. Wondering what is wrong with a nice cab ride home from the airport. Not like I wouldn't be the one paying the cab fare. Said she would call between flights on her layover. No call, and her 2nd flight should have taken off 25 minutes ago. I don't even know if she is on the 2nd plane or missed it. whatever ...

Dang guys, the homefront sounds like a stormfront today. My condolences to you both- y'all have legitimate complaints. Bob, I will NEVER say that again! OMG! Wasn't thinking. LOL!

I am reminded of a bad time in my marriage when I went to Georgia for a long stay. When I came back, the house was immaculate and DH had even painted the livingroom in a color that I really like- kinda of a brick red but not too red and ugly. It actually worked well and is still that color. But, as soon as I walked into the house, I noticed the little mistakes in his paint job and nit picked it. He was so crest fallen. I regret my words to this very day. I was just being a mega b*tch. I'm not usually like that, either. I was just worn out from my trip and a little annoyed at nothing in particular and took it out on him. Sh*tty. Unfortunately, we can't take that stuff back. But, I CAN remember to bite my tongue in the future.

Dang guys, the homefront sounds like a stormfront today. No storms here, other than those provided by Mother Nature. Never ever. Hard for a storm to build in an atmosphere dominated by indifference. More like having a roommate. c'est la vie One gets used to a situation. Deciding if the situation might be improved by changing variables is the hard part. Grass may seem greener elsewhere, but that ain't always so once ya get there. *update - she finally called, missed connecting flight. Arriving a couple hours behind schedule. Actually figured on taking a cab home - so I could be here to feed the dogs at their normal time.

Convenience and predictability does make life easier. Restless folks seem to fight the routine. Worse when younger. The roommate. Yes, appropriate description. In my case also a business partner extraordinaire.
Plant and fire pit biz, she was left to do the light work after I crunched out the heavy stuff(light stuff = watering plants and arranging fire pit shipments). I learned 25 years ago to work with her 6-7 months and get away during off season. Kitchen passes were stacked up on counter after 6 months of working together an intense season. By design, this system probably kept us together.
Recent years I have been more of a home body. After busy season, "When are you leaving ?, she says." Lol, she yearns to have me go away. For a spell (I think). I could pack up and leave for 3 months. No problem, and yes she would welcome me back apparently be missing me. This freedom is satisfying. I look after the place when she goes to dog shows and other travels. People perplexed we never travel together. We got pets, and best if one of us stays at home, that simple.
I have had to work hard to make enough product to keep the both of us self employed though. Been physically demanding. She does not know that I am getting broken down, or knows and does not care. Probably not aware. This part of aging I find frightening had I not prepared financially for retirement fairly well. And I don't go off on my strenuous safari's much anymore. And am bored with lazy low risk travels.
In conclusion I am in her debt for being right for my personality. I love her dearly but no longer say it to her. Not sure why. Must be the roommate mentality. Plus the hot sex is not there anymore lol(male pig). Two 60 year old bodies... Actually enjoying a reduction in testosterone. Mind is full of it, body not ha.

Reduced testosterone welcomed? :: Shudder :: Boy, if my DH reads RTH I'd be in trouble. But I hate it when his testosterone gets low. Like having an 6 foot teenage girl in the house. I swear that testosterone is the bliss hormone for men. Low-T cranky, High-T happy. The saying 'Happy wife=happy life" well it works in reverse too!

I never realized that testosterone levels were such a focus. Interesting. Tired of chasing my wife around the kitchen table. I think she is tired of being chased around the kitchen table. Enjoying the peace. Energy devoted to some other needed areas. Nothing lost. Not in my mind anyway. They say sex is all in the mind. Never felt that way. Always thought it is a younger peoples game. I never had to take the blue pill, no problems there. Age does not seem to change physical capabilities. But it does change the desirability of our bodies. That is where my problem is.

I never had to take the blue pill, no problems there. Age does not seem to change physical capabilities. But it does change the desirability of our bodies. That is where my problem is. Testosterone, at least for my husband, isn't all about sex. Even when he's low, there has never been problems in that arena. It just makes him nicer. I know that is subjective, but without it, he's cranky, sullen and irritable. I guess depressed would be a word for it. With his autoimmune degenerative bone disease, he takes opiates daily and the doctor told him that is the quickest way to decrease testosterone. It was actually his doctor that originally broached the subject with him. Suggested they check his levels because of his long term need for pain management. Then when he came back quite low, they wanted to supplement. I was against it at first. Thought the added T would make him aggressive ('roid rage'). But it did just the opposite. In fact, it helps with his pain level, or at least his perception of his daily pain. He uses less medication when the levels are up. His doctor said that would be the case and it is.
