Here's a few pics of my recent batch.
I did some sodalite and other soft stones in the 3 lb. Still can't get a good shine on them , 2 weeks in AO 3000.a satin finish at best. Maybe try cerium oxide ? Suggestions ?
A couple of favorites.
Thanks for looking Gary

I too really like your striped stones. Very cool.
What is the green&white rock over top of the sodalite in the first picture? Looks kinda like Dallasite.
Sodalite polishes as well as most any rock I've tumbled. Shiny shiny! I gotta say that yours look beat to heck when the picture is enlarged.
I'm wondering if you are aren't running your barrel full enough so your rocks have too much room to tumble and crash around into each other? The further along my tumbles go, the fuller I have the barrel. You do not want to hear rocks hitting each other once you go past your coarse grit step. Do you use any cushioners, like plastic pellets, in the later stages and polish? I do with all my stones, but would especially recommend that with "softer" stones. If you use plastic fillers, use only in a specific grit. Meaning, have different pellets (tile spacers will work and are cheap, but I think plastic pellets are better) for each grit stage so that you don't carry the coarser grit along to the next step.
AO polish is 14,000. Where are you getting AO 3,000? AO polish should work just fine to shine up your sodalite.
Personally, I wouldn't bother trying to redo that sodalite. No offense, but it's already kinda small and I'm not even sure you could save it at this point.

Thanks Captbob Yes that is dallassite , I had those and the flowerstone ( also upper corner ) In the 3lb. topped to 1 in. with plastic pellets. plus a few shavings of pure soap. All 3 stone groups have a dull sheen to them. AO polish 5lb. tub doe's not have the grit # just assumed it was 3000. The sodalite did get a lot of fractures , maybe needs to be fuller. Used the same polish on the other 2 batches turned out fine.

Got some real beauties there. Nice job.
An alternative to plastic filler ... fill the barrel to about 90%, less room to crash around, then run for at least 14 days.

Great variety there.
The pink stuff is rhodonite or rhodochrosite - I always get them mixed up.
